Looking for parents of Maria Louisa OVERBY (OVERBEY), b. 1834 in
Lunenberg Co., VA. She married in 1861 in Petersburg, VA James L. BONE.
Her marriage record listed her parents as James and Susan OVERBY, and
the marriage record is the source of her birthplace.

We haven't been able to find her in the 1850 and 1860 censuses. But we
did find a child Maria OVERBY in 1850 and a Louisa OVERBY in 1860. Peter
Overby and Cynthia Worsham apparently had children named Maria, b. 1834,
and Louisa, b. 1833, or perhaps they were the same child. June 1842,
Pleas Book M-1 (Mecklenburg Co., VA) lists the children of Peter Overby
as Louisa, Edmund, Alexander, Mariah, and Panthea. Maria, (b. 1834) is
listed in the census with Synthia Overby in 1850, and Louisa Overby, (b.
1833) is listed in the 1860 census with two children under the age of 10
and no husband, both in Halifax Co., VA.
