Greetings - since there have been questions recently about newspapers, I
would like to let you all know about some of the newspaper resources that
the Library of Virginia makes available online:

http://www.lva.lib.va.us/dlp/newspaper/index.htm

First, the Newspapers in Virginia database is an excellent resource for
discovering newspaper titles and holdings at many Virginia libraries.

Second, the Henley Marriage and Obituary Database provides access to
thousands of transcriptions of marriage and obituary notices appearing in
Virginia and other newspapers.

Third, the Petersburg Public Library Newspaper Index provides excellent
coverage of that area between 1787-1877.

There are many more, but these may be of immediate use to you.

Elizabeth
