I was wondering exactly the same thing. My ancestor had a daughter whose
birth date has always been given as 1822. My ancestor died in Feb of 1848. Her
tombstone says she was 76 years of age. If both of these pieces of info are
correct she would have been 50 years of age when she gave birth. I always
thought that would have been too old. The two children just younger than that
one were born in 1816 and 1818.
