The next two programs in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House lecture series will take place at noon on Tuesday, February
18, 2003 and at noon on Thursday, February 20, 2003, in the conference rooms
adjacent to the lobby in the Library of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in
downtown Richmond.

The speaker on Tuesday will be Veronica Davis, and independent researcher.
She will speak on "Historic African-American Cemeteries in Richmond," and is
the author of the recent book, Here I Lay My Burdens Down, which is about
those cemeteries. A book signing will follow the talk.

The speaker on Thursday will be Lucious Edwards, Jr., archivist and
professor at Virginia State University. He will speak on"Luther P. Jackson
and the Association for the Study of African-American Life and History."
Luther P. Jackson was an early and influential Virginia African-American
history scholar, who taught for many years at. Virginia State University.
