Hello,

How would I find out if John Gill a Revolutionary soldier, born about 1755
in Overwharton Stafford VA, died in battle, was married. It appears he may
have been married to a Frances Rankin with a marriage date of about 1774.
If he died in service, would his widow have received a pension or land?

Another question along this line. John would be a half brother by blood of
a direct blood relative of mine. Would he qualify as a blood relative if
he in fact were only half blood?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Marilyn
