Here is Pat's solution to the preservation quandary that we all do (and should) keep constantly in mind. I would only add that one of the libraries that should be included in your list of recipients is the giant and very fine Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne, IN. Thanks, Pat. Paul

Paul - As a retired real estate abstractor, court record researcher, etc. I
would offer the solution I came up with some years ago.
Our Mitchell family encouraged me to publish my Mitchell research for them
and in the process I duplicated the documentation to support my findings
and included them in the book. It was my feeling that the abstract of
title I had typed or "brought down to date from previous certification" or
genealogy books found in many libraries had survived many years. To
further preserve my research I donated copies of the Ancestors and
Descendants of Isaac Mitchell and Phoebe Chambers to the DAR, SAR local
and state libraries, and even to the LDS library in Salt Lake City. The
Mitchell book contained only the family groups with a few pictures and the
deeds, estate work, military pension data, etc. so was not over 100
pages. With the help of others the research began prior to the American
Revolution and I gave credit to them. But I feel that it is preserved as
well as can be expected for future researchers....
Thank you, Patricia Ann Moore Mitchell
