Hello VA-Roots.

My ancestor Angelica (HUNT) COBBS' brother - Rev. Robert Hunt was the
first Rector of Jamestown and it is documented that he baptized
Pocahontas. Ambrose and Angelica (HUNT) COBBS's son Ambrose COBBS was our
first COBBS to come here to VA in 1664. Ambrose COBBS, his wife Mary
(WHITE), and their children were the first to come. He had connections
with the Virginia Company and also to his uncle the Rev. Robert HUNT who
served as the first Rector of Jamestown. Angelica and Robert had 2 other
brothers there in Jamestown - Stephen HUNT and Thomas HUNT.

Please free to connect me with other kinsmen and I have much more
genealogical research and family stories to share.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Peace and blessings.
Dolores Cobb Phifer
Hatfield, PA

P.S. I understand that the original of what is now known as Cobbs Hall is
located at the Library of The Univ of VA.

One of my first ancestors here in America was Ambrose COBBS and his wife
Mary WHITE. They eventually settled on the land which is now known
as "The Point of Rocks Park" (... "Cobbs (... aka Cobbs Hall)," on the
Appomattox River, below Petersburg). This land was eventfully sold to
MASTERS, BURTON, and BOLLING... and LEE... all descendents of Pocahontas
and John ROLFE... through their son Thomas ROLFE. Many of my ancestors'
siblings and kinsmen intermarried with Pocahontas's descendents.

Here you will find my ancestors... their siblings and their descendents.
You will also find Pocahontas and her decadency and how they back connect
to our COBBS/COBB line.

My early VA COBBS/COBB ancestors' and related kinsmen's names are among
the many on the plaques hung on the walls of the Bruton Church in Colonial
Williamsburg VA as well as many of them are buried under the center isle
of the church there
