The index to the chancery records of Cumberland Co. have been added to the
Library of Virginia's Chancery Records Index.  The records span from 1750-
1866.  Cumberland Co. is in the Central Piedmont region which adds it to
the records of three other localities available for searching in that
region: Chesterfield, Goochland, Henrico.  The Cumberland Co. records have
not yet been microfilmed so you must come to the Library of Virginia in
order to view the original records.

Please be sure to check the "What's Available" page of the Chancery Records
Index to see all the localities that have been added to the Index in the
past year.  We will try to post each new addition to the Index from this
point forward.

To access the Chancery Records Index, visit the Library of Virginia's
homepage at http://www.lva.lib.va.us/, click on "Index", click on "C", and
then click on "Chancery Records Index."

There is a "Questions or Comments" link on the Chancery Records Index page
