I have a brick wall with William Hill who married Catherine Stacy in
Stafford Co. VA Overwharton Parish recorded in 1745. I also have copies
of land records that show he leased land from the Lee family in Fauquier
in 1765 and 1785. At this time he had moved into Shenandoah Co. VA. where
is is on the tax rolls with his youngest son Allen I have their seven
children with Simon be the 6th child. He was a Revolutionary War Vet. who
moved his family to Licking and Muskingum Co OH in 1812. He applied for a
pension in Licking Co and was buried in Mt Olive Church Cemetery Muskingum
Co. OH on Oct 27, 1820. His family still lives in Muskingum and Licking
Co. OH to this day. VA families such as Holmes, Redman, Robinson, Hume,
Shaw, Henslee and Stacy familes followed the Hill family to OH.

The family tradition was that the oldest son was named after his
Grandfather. William and Catherines oldest son was John. The Overwharton
Parish record shows a John Hill who died in 1743 (was this Williams
father?). I have a copy of his will which shows that his widow was
Elizabeth M. Hill. The St. Pauls Parish records show a marriage between
John Hill and Elizabeth Mahoney in Oct 1,1716. The will was also signed
by Benjamin Robinson who too married a Stacy sister. All this is evidence
that John was Williams father but I do not have any proof other than the
above.

If anyone has access to VA records such as County, Parish or family
records that show these family members, I would appreciate any help.

My records are at www.gencircles.com.user.robertallanhill/1

Thanks for your time and consideration.
