Am looking for substantiation of Hominy Hall ever being Spence land.
I think that Mary Spence, the first wife of Charles Lee married James
Steptoe and they had one or two daughters.
Mary Spence was one of three daughters of Alexander Spence of Cople Parish
in Westmoreland county, VA.. This Alexander Spence died in 1794 and had one
son Patrick and 3 daughters- Mary, Dorcas and Elizabeth.
Mary Spence married before 6 Nov. 1715 Charles Lee of Wicomico Parish
Northumberland Co. . Charles Lee about 1721 m. 2) Elizabeth of Pinckard of
Northumberland Co.The question is did Mary Lee (the only child of Mary (Spence)
Lee and Charles Lee marry James Steptoe and have one or two daughters?

The questions (for an elderly friend) is whether Hominy Hall in
WSestmoreland County had ever been Spence land. i.e. did Mary Spence receive about 1/3 of
this land (with her two sisters receiving other 2/3- this would happen if
son Patrick Spence died before receiving his share of the land belonging to his
father Alexander spence?
Are there any land records which that Hominy Hall had once been Spence land?
The amunt of land would be about 296 acres. Thanks, William McCarty
