I have a puzzle I can not figure out. I will post the facts as they
appear in the court orders and if any one thinks they can figure it out
will you please respond to me. Thank You!
-----
(HX Co Plea Bk 6 page 273 year 1769)
"Thomas Carr and William Carr being of lawfull age for that purpose came

into court and made choice of John Carr to be their Guardian. Who
together with James Hodges and John Milam his surity entered into bond
and acknowledged the same."
[Doesn't this mean they were at least 14 years old each when they chose
their guardian?]

(Hx Co Plea bk 8 page 55 year 1773)
"Thomas Carr, defendant against John Carr Guardian, Plaintiff of the
Profits of his Wards Estate, it is ordered issue against him for a
contempt returnable to next Court."
[1-Doesn't this mean he has not reported the profits of his wards
estate,
age aprox. 18 years old?]
[2-And why are the boys defendant against their own estate?]

(Hx Co Plea bk 8 pg 88 year 1773)
Thomas Carr and William Carr defendant against John Carr Plaintiff
"John Carr Guardian of William Carr and Thomas Carr returned and amount
of the profit of the estates of the said orphans and the same being
examied and approved of by the court to which the said guardian make
oath, was ordered to be recorded."
[Doesn't this mean John reported the profits of his wards, age aprox 18
years old?]

(Hx Co Plea bk 10 page 24; June 17, 1779)
"John Carr Guardian to Thomas and William having been summoned there to
fore to render on account of his wards estate and for reasons appearing
it is orderd that the summons and proceeding here on be dismissed and
that the said John Carr pay the cost here of."
[Does this mean that further proceedings should be
dismissed because of the boys are aprox. now 24 years old?]

(Hx Co Plea bk10 page 387, August 1783)
"John Carr who is guardian to William and Thomas Carr, William one of
his
wards, came into Court and fully and clearly released his said guardian,

he being of full age for that purpose."
[So how old are they now? 28 by my calculation. What do you think?]

Hx Co Plea bk 10 page 394, September 1783)
"John Carr guardian to Thomas Carr his said ward now comes into court
and
fully and clearly released his said guardian he being of full age for
that purpose."
[How old is he now? 28 year aprox. And why didn't he come with his
brother?
He couldn't be only one month younger.]
----
Again, thank you to anyone who is willing to take on this challenge. It

has been a mystery to us for 10 years.
