£ = Pound; S or s = shilling; p or d = pence (penny).  In the 19th and most of the 20th century, we also had farthings - 1/4 of a pence. Paul  



  I hope that someone on the list can tell me how to make the symbols for
   British currency; pounds, shillings, etc.  I will appreciate this
   information so very much.
