I am not the lady you're looking for,  but I think I know where the John Shelton house is in Hanover County.  Get the ADC Map Book of Metro Richmond and go to Map 4.  From Ashland take Mt. Hermon Road south to Stone Pass Drive.  The next road is Shelton Farm Lane.  The house sits in the triangle between the three roads. 

I went looking for Perrin Mill House and drove into a cul de sac where the property's owner, Mr. Garlick, pointed out 37 graves of Perrins in his apple orchard!  Then he told me that the Perrins also lived in the Shelton farmhouse at some point in history.  Also, someone named Paul Harrelson, an orphan, was brought up in the house in the early 1700's, and I'm trying to trace him. 
This house is almost across the street from Mt. Hermon Methodist Church.
