There is one way around those censuses not indexed on Heritage Quest is
to look online at USGENWEB/USGENWEB Archives for the individual counties
for most have indexes for those censuses online. Most of those indexes
have page numbers, townships, and the spellings for the individuals
listed on the census.

Plus there are printed indexes at most genealogical/historical libraries
covering those years as well in case your library or society doesn't
subscribe to Ancestry.com.

Those years are on Heritage Quest, they are just not indexed.

In my discussions with the Proquest staff, they have not come right out
and
said they will never have indexed searching for the 1830-1850 censuses,
but
the implication is strong. I believe it's a marketing decision.
