You missed my point entirely.

I am not excusing or endorsing plagiarism.

You must understand that if you put your information
online, especially if you allow them to easily
download it, that they will do so.  Rather than rant
and rave, simply don't put out there what you don't
want shared, or be very selective with whom you share
it.
