Briefly stated, if you "publish" your works by setting those adrift in
the ocean called the internet, you must expect the information to be
used by whoever is out there scavenging for what they may find.
As to publishing, for the benefit of those millions of folks who are
not users of this technology, you surely should do so. Then too,
there is precious little memento value of some accumulation on the net
or of a computer disc (which may or may not last more than a couple of
decades). A book done by you will have lasting value and be a
treasure for all who descend from those you have mentioned, and surely
for your own immediate family and their descendants.
By all means, do not be deterred by those who have written nothing.
