While I know of no true "rule of law" as to witnesses to a bond, I am as sure as I can be, sans that specific rule, that no court would approve the word of a minor to such a document, since upon coming of age that minor would be in his right to disavow that act.

Would Henry Pemberton have to be at least 18 or maybe 21 before he could be
a witness?....
