In the court case Hite v. Fairfax you will find many of the families that came to settled in the area. you don't say where you live , but in the VA room of the Fairfax library they have the complete court case. I believe other libraries in VA also have it, I know for sure that SWEM library has a copy.
The people knew the court case was coming so left the area in advance, for example my Thomas Morgan left for Bedford County; however, he was deposed many years later. wish I could be more help but on vacation and my notes are at home/.

However, the original families came from PA. Because he had such large land grants in the Shenandoah Valley, many settled on his lands. Among the original group is Benjamin Borden who also had large VA land grants in the same area and attracted more settlers to the Borden tract. I once read most of the material on the early settlement, largely in Frederick Co. VA and as I recall many of the settlers on that land came from Burlington NJ and were Quakers. Opequon was a Quaker settlement. If you're looking for an immigrant to the area from NY or NJ (or even PA), you might have good luck in Quaker materials.
