Would anyone have a any information relating to a Jane Gardner of Louisa
County, VA? I have her as the grandmother of "Peggy" Gardner who was the
mother of Josephine Fletcher born about 1857 in Louisa County, VA. I have
been checking census and found a John and Jane Gardner with a daughter named
Margaret in the Spotsylvania 1850 Census. Jane Gardner shows up with
Josephine's sister Mary in the 1870 Louisa Census and as widowed. The
Spotsylvania was a shot in the dark. I
I'm trying to establish lineage.
I apologize for sounding so confused; but I am pulling together pieces from
a Chancery Case from the Sulfur Mines of Virginia which gave a chopped up
genealogy list of heirs starting with a William Grady who died in 1812.
My Josephine Fletcher (who was my paternal great grandmother) was included
on that list under her mother's name twice - once using her maiden name of
"Fletcher" and then using her married name of "Sydnor".
So I guess to sum it all up, I am looking for a Grady, Gardner, Fletcher
connection which was in the Louisa/Spotsylvania/Goochland County area.
Nothing like trying to find a speck of dust in the ocean. I'm still
looking..just thought I'd throw this out there!!
I'm in no hurry..My desk is a mess as it is!!

My very best to all....and Happy Fall!
