On August 20, 1658, Hugh Cavenagh departed
Bristol, England as a yoeman on the ship headed
for VA to begin his services as an indentured
servant for 5 years. It is believed he later married
an Elinor Sheridan and that they both died at an
early age leaving 7 minor children who were
subsequently indentured who were:
William born about 1680-1681;
Thomas born about 1681;
Francis born about 1681-1682;
Elinor born about 1682-1683;
David born about 1683-1684;
Daniel born about 1687-1688; and,
John born about 1689-1690 who is believed
to be the father of the Hugh Cavender who
died in Charlotte County, Virginia in 1789.
