The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House lecture series will take place at noon on Tuesday, 16
March, 2004 in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the Library
of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond.

The speaker will be Tom Camden, Director of Special Collections at the
Library of Virginia, who will present a talk entitled "Reflections of a
Self-Educated Woman: The Private Library of Ellen Glasgow." Ellen
Glasgow (1874-1945) was a major literary figure in early Twentieth
Century America and a resident of Richmond during her literary career.
Largely self-educated, she had a significant personal library which was
dispersed after her death. The Library of Virginia has acquired some 100
volumes from it, and the talk will center on what they reveal about her.

There is free underground parking for Library patrons. For more
information on this and other programs and services of the Library of
Virginia please visit the Library web site at http://www.lva.lib.va.us
