Paul,
Would it not depend on the census? I know some of the earlier census' that showed others than head of household, did not state relationship to head of household. So I had to find another source to prove relationship. Just because they were living in the house, about the same age as the rest of the grown children, I couldn't assume that they were related.

Sure, but you may not cite the net as your source.  A copy of the page of
the entry on microfilm is acceptable to all.

While we are on the subject........... are census records acceptable for
lineage societies? The only record that I can find of the parents of one of
my 2nd great-grandmothers is in census records.
