Here are some future history-related events:

On Thursday, 25 April 2002, author Elvatrice Parker Blesches will lecture
and sign copies of her new book, "Black America: Richmond," an illustrated
history featuring more than 200 rare photographs, at J. Sargeant Reynolds
Community College's campus in downtown Richmond at 700 Jackson Street. The
event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the JSRCC Chapter
of the National Council on Black American Affairs. For more information,

On Monday, 29 April 2002, Dr. John Smith, Staff Historian, Air Combat
Command, Office of History, will lecture on "Langley Field: America's First
Air Force Base," in the Port Hampton Lecture Series of the Hampton History
Museum Association. The lecture takes place at 7 p.m. at the Main Hampton
Library, 4207 Victoria Blvd., Hampton. For more information call

Beginning on 3 May 2002 through 28 July 2002, the Black History Museum and
Cultural Center of Virginia, located at 00 Clay Street in downtown Richmond,
will host a special exhibition entitled "For Honor and Glory: Blacks in the
