In researching my family tree I found one of the ancestors living in Splashdam, Dickenson Co., Va. He was a coal miner and worked for the Splashdam Coal Corp. I am assuming this is what they referred to as a coal camp or town. Does anyone have info on this town or where I could find such information? The couple I am researching are, Samuel Sidney Bowman and Sarah Cox Bowman. I found this information on a WWII registration card dated in 1941. Anyone researching the Bowman's from Wise Co., Va and Dickenson Co., Va.?

Thanks for any replies,

Bev
