Who says archives aren’t fun? Nearly all the Library of Virginia archivists have
a “funny file” to document the zany and/or bizarre things we find in the
records here at the LVA – little things that don’t necessarily make it into the
history books. This week one of our reference archivists shares an odd story
she found in a Fairfax County death register about a chicken, an alleged thief,
and thoughts on the afterlife. If you have stories about the odd or
unexpected you've found in your research, tell us about it by posting a
comment on the blog. You'll see the "Leave a comment" link at he bottom of
the post.
