Hi folks
For those that might be interested, have several new things online on New
River Notes tonight (http://www.ls.net/~newriver/nrv.htm Apologies in
advance for crossposts.
On the Ashe Co., NC page
A slightly different version of Rev. James Harvey Weaver with a photo of him
and two grandchildren, contributed by Walter Weaver, his great-grandson.
On the Patrick County, Virginia page
Rhonda Robertson kindly sent along the Patrick County Muster roll from
1861-1865 as contained in the county court minute book. Don't take these
county court minute roster as exhaustive, but if your person's name is there,
well the search for his unit is over.
On the Smyth County, Virginia Page
Several (15) new Cemeteries from the files of the late Eugene Hoover,
contributed by his daughters Judy Hoover and Renie Hoover Helton. Most of
the cemeteries are in western Smyth County, many near the Tazewell or Bland
County lines, some are small, and some are not included in the Smyth County
cemetery books published by Mack & Kenny Sturgill.
I also reorganized the Smyth County page, to reorganize the files into
categories. Nothing is gone, just reorganized, to hopefully be more useful.
Those looking for strictly genealogical stuff, might want to scroll to the
bottom of the page for a look at vital records.
Also on the subject of Smyth County, if anyone has knowledge of a cemetery
not listed, please drop me a note.
Warm regards
Jeff Weaver
