I have noted the mention of adjacent counties that might contain records regarding ancestors in Albemarle County.  One county I did not see mentioned, unless I missed it, was Louisa.  If any ancestor lived in the northern portion of Albemarle County prior to 1761, I would suggest that research be done in Louisa County.  My Snow ancestor (John Snow) moved from Orange County to the area of Buck Mountain in what is now Albemarle County ca. 1750.  A northern "band" of land in Albemarle County was ceded to it by Louisa County in 1761.  I have found a number of records regarding John in the Louisa County Court House.
