The title of the book about the first hand oral histories is called "Pioneer Recollections". Several of my ancestors are quoted in it and it's a great book.

Merisha,

My brother-in-law's family comes from Dickinson County. I have

researched them a little bit and have most of the collateral lines. I

have some Elswicks but no Keens (either spelling).

There are two books that I used that might be helpful- one is a

genealogy of the Counts family as it covers many of the collateral lines

-_Some descendants of John Counts of Glade Hollow_ by Sutherland.

Second is a book of assembled oral histories done I believe in the 1930s

which I unfortunately can't remember the title of -I believe the word

lick was in the title-

You may be able to eliminate William Keens if you can't identify the

correct one.

Hope you are successful,

Marilyn Jackson
