Nathan:
Amey - 1825, May 2 - license for a house of private entertainment (similar
to an ordinary, not a bordello :-); both provided food and lodging, the
difference was a H of P E could board a person upto a month; a week in
cities or towns.

Hugh - present at the first term of court for Lunenburg County May 1745.
Lunenburg was created from Brunswick Co., Charlotte was created from
Lunenburg in 1765.
James - 1817 - Ensign, Charlotte Co. militia

was regular army, not militia)
Sarah - 1848, May 1 - license for H of PE (might be James's widow since he
disappears at this point)
1849, May 7 - Mrs. Sarah Lawson, renewed
1850, May 6 - renewed
1851, May 6 - renewed
T. G. - Charlotte Greys, Co. I, 56th Infantry
William - postmaster, Midland P.O. - Midland was established in 1836,
discontinued in 1839, re-opened in 1843 and permanently closed in 1855.
Other postmasters were John Osbourne and G. Ullman.
That is all the info found in the book. The info was taken from original
records here in Charlotte. I don't know anything else about the Lawson
family. There is no way of knowing from this book if the mulitple listings
for a name refer to the same person or not.
