Hello,

I am new to the list.  I wanted to post a general query regarding my maternal 
family.  If anyone is related to or has information on these Scott's, please 
contact me.

George Washington Scott (b. abt 1850-1860, VA)
his wife:
Mary Susan Frances Moyers (b. abt 1860, possibly in VA)
their son:
Andrew Wilson Scott (b. 6 Aug 1875, Rockbridge County, VA)

This is my Great Grandfather (Andrew) and his parents.  I cannot be clear 
about their ethnicity at this point, because in the 1920 census for 
(Cunningham, Person County, NC) Andrew Wilson Scott's family was listed 
as "black", and in 1930 (Barberton, Summit County, OH) as "Indian", and in 
other docs as "white".

The family story has been that they were of Cherokee and Scottish/Irish 
descent, but I am considering that they may have even been Monacan, or 
Monacan and African, with a British mix up the line as well.

I cannot trace George and Mary with any certainty in any census reports yet.
