Hi,
Have you checked with any of the patriotic lineage societies of VA:
Jamestowne, Col Dames of America, Col Dames of 17th Century?

Subject: Re: [VA-ROOTS] Brown/Popham Marriages

I have a Brown mystery..My great grandmother was a Blankenship out of
Chesterfield (Charles Blankenship was her father)...She married a James
Brown..James Brown was a long time resident of Manchester VA. according to
his obituary. I went to the state for his death certificate in hopes it
would shed some light.on his lineage...There isn't a death cert...I know his
funeral was at Bainbridge Baptist Church in Manchester (now Richmond..and
the location is no longer that church)..There has got to be church records
somewhere...suggestion's? Best, Shirley Cox Schroeder On Jul 9, 2014 3:19
