Greetings,
I have been fortunate enough to have been given access to 797 Obituaries of
Afro-Americans who lived, or had connections at one time or another in
Halifax County Va.
These persons were born as early as 1878. The latest date of death was the
year 2001 (not the same person).
I have entered the info from the obits into my computer. I have found info on
some of my ancestors not found in any publications I have seen.
I have entered such info as:
Surname and given names, DOB, DOD, and if given, parents, spouses, in some
cases date of marriage, and the name of the cemetery where they were buried.
I will post names, DOB & DOD for these individuals over several days/weeks.
If you find someone of interest, let me know and I will send you the rest of
the info on that person, whatever it is.
I have tried to keep my entries as accurate as possible, but with all that
data and my lack of typing skills, I am sure I made some mistakes. Sorry.
In order to not cause problems for others not interested in this info, I will
not answer any requests for further info posted on this list.
