Is it possible to estimate the age or birthdate for a individual for whom I
found the following record in a Virginia County Order Book?

25-Mar-1784
Ordered that Overseers of the Poor bind "A.B." for the term of Four Years
to "R.C." .... he to furnish him with Sufficient Cloathes, food & to
receive the Sum of Ten pounds at expiration of his service and to be taught
the trade of Blacksmith.

What was the Legal (or customary) age at that time that an individual would
be bound until? Was it 18 or 21 or some other age?
