William Browne of Old Rappahannock County VA, will dated 12 March 1676,
proven 4 July 1677 Old Rappahannock County VA, and his wife Elizabeth
(-----) Browne Morgan Taylor, named a son Maxfield Browne, will dated 4
June 1745, proven 5 July 1745 King George County VA.

There has been speculation that Elizabeth family name was Maxfield or that
one of Maxfield Browne's grandmothers had the family name Maxfield. So
far no proof or even evidence other than Maxfield's own name.

There was no Maxfield family resident in Old Rappahannock or Westmoreland
County VA before 1700. I'd be grateful to know whether there was a
Maxfield family established somewhere in Virginia during the late C17.
Possibly the Eastern Shore?

Many thanks for your help, and best wishes to you.
