YOU MIGHT NEED TO CHECK A FEW DIFFERENT COUNTIES, DEPENDING ON HOW IT WAS
SPLIT UP. A KENTUCKY LIBRARIAN MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU THE BEST.
BUT........ ACCORDING TO MY GENEALOGY BOOK,

MAYBE PIN POINT WHO TOOK THAT PIECE OR SECTION OF THE COUNTY AND WHAT IT'S CALLED
NOW. BUT START WITH THESE:

LINCOLN COUNTY WAS FORMED FROM KENTUCKY

LINCOLN COUNTY
102 E MAIN STREET
STANFORD KY 40484

RECORD EXIST STARTING IN 1792

AND FAYETTE WAS FORMED ALSO FROM KENTUCKY

FAYETTE COUNTY COURTS
162 E. MAINSTREET
LEXINGTON KY 40507-1363
859 253 3344
CLERK HAS RECORDS STARTING FROM 1795

AND JEFFERSON COUNTY
JEFFERSON COUNTY 527 W.JEFFERSON ST.
LOUISVILLE KY 40202-2814

The Kentucky GEnWeb site shows Jefferson County,Ky was formed in 1780 from
Kentucky County, Virginia. I am looking for information from the 1763
time period. How do I locate court records from that year and from
Kentucky County, VA when that county does not exist today? This county is
not mentioned on the Virginia GenWeb site.
