Subject: Re: [VA-ROOTS] Albemarle County Formation

I have noted the mention of adjacent counties that might contain records
regarding ancestors in Albemarle County. One county I did not see
mentioned, unless I missed it, was Louisa. If any ancestor lived in the
northern portion of Albemarle County prior to 1761, I would suggest that
research be done in Louisa County. My Snow ancestor (John Snow) moved from
Orange County to the area of Buck Mountain in what is now Albemarle County
ca. 1750. A northern "band" of land in Albemarle County was ceded to it by
Louisa County in 1761. I have found a number of records regarding John in
the Louisa County Court House. Kirk Sheap in the snowy Shenandoah Valley.
