  And again, for what it's worth.......

  I would be suspicious of just how much of an "active" participant William Hatcher would be in the actual battle that ensued. He was abt 63 at the time. My instinct would be that he was more a vocal (he did tend to be rather outspoken :-) and perhaps financial supporter. I would think, too, that he was hauled before the court only because he signed that petition. I would also think that those who managed to escape death or capture would not have been broadcasting their participation. It could be that those who survived will never be known.
