Walt - while Isle of Wight Co may only be SW Virginia to someone from Va Beach (which I am) I do have a Harrison with limited information of origin or demise. In 1837 John William Davis married Temperance Ann Harrison; they are buried in Norfolk's Elmwood Cemetery. Back in the very early 1970s I found in the Va State Library a Will Extract for a Revolutionary War (in Va's Navy) surgeon, Dr. Joseph Harrison listing Temperance and her sister, Martha (then a widow of Joel Gwaltney) as daughters of Thomas and cousin, Catherine daughter of Charles. Thomas was the son of Sampson, Sampson being the deceased older brother of this Joseph and of the youngest also deceased, Charles Harrison. In the Henley database at VSLA Temperance is listed as the only daughter of the late Thomas of IOW Co. Thomas had married in 1813 Tempy H. Tynes in IOW. This Tempy is listed as Temperance in her father's 1799 will, Benjamin Tynes. At the DAR Library I located a listing of his marriage, in Walf!

Residents, 1607-1800, 1784 to Susannah Bridger, the widow of James Bridger, she having been a Powell of Nansemond Co. Sorry I've deviated from Harrison.
