Thank you for looking at this for me Paul. You may be correct, but I am not 
entirely convinced yet that these individuals did not make it to the Americas 
as I know of a few that most certainly did. Richard Highfield is also listed in 
Chandler's "Emigrants from Britain to the Colonies of America and the West 
Indies." 

I have checked the criminals list for any Highfields sent to America, and also 
the land grants in Virginia but have not yet found Richard. I will check the 
Maryland land grants to see if he is listed there.
