Greetings VA-ROL Members –

The significant overhaul of the General Records Retention and Disposition Schedule for Local Law Enforcement has come to fruition, and the new version may be found on the Records Management Webpage for Locality General Schedules.

Given the significance of this update, there is a guidance document attached to the beginning of the schedule, where it will remain for a couple of months, and will then be placed at the end of the schedule.  To those who use this schedule, you are *highly* encouraged to give it a thorough review, and if there are those in your office who use the schedule and are not on VA-ROL, please pass on this notice.

As you review and implement the schedule, if there is anything found to be amiss, please let me know. I would like the schedule to percolate for a couple of months, and will then address any needed tweaking starting June 17, and made ready for the July 15 review-cycle deadline.

To everyone who provided guidance and input throughout this long process...thank you!
