There is a new series on GS-17 (Law Enforcement Records):
000121 - Expunged Records
This series consists of police records that have been expunged and
sealed by court order.
Retain according to provisions of the court order, or if no specific
time period is stated, retain for 3 years after court order ends then
destory in compliance with No. 8 on the scehdule cover page.
This series will cover those records held in police or law enforcement
agency that have been expunged and sealed per court order, but without
any guidance on a destruction date. Now offices have to maintain these
records (sealed) for a minimum of three years before they can be
destroyed.
If you have any questions or issues please do not hesitate to contact
me.
Thanks,
Tom Wellman
