Thanks, Norma Marin at VDH HQ clarified this for us the last time this
subject was sent out.

VDH is continuing to follow the normal Retention/Destruction schedules
concerning Medicare records.

Subject: Medicare records

Good morning,

Yesterday, I forwarded an email from Barbara Cerbone to the listserv
regarding the destruction of Medicare records. Ms. Cerbone has clarified
that the freeze on the destruction of Medicare records only applies to
federal records.
Medicare providers of services holding billing or reimbursement records
should maintain and destroy these records according to the LVA-approved
schedules.

Apologies for any confusion this has caused and thank you to Susan
Chipps, who contacted Ms. Cerbone and passed this information along.
