The "Regulations Governing the Destruction of Public Records Containing
Social Security Numbers" (17VAC15-120) became effective 24 December
2008.  To see the regulation, go to the Virginia General Assembly
Legislative Information System website; then "Virginia Administrative
Code", then "Title 17"; then "Agency 15"; then "Chapter 120".  I've
attached a link that should hopefully take you directly to the
regulation.
