All Records and Information Managers, Records Officers and Records
Coordinators start 2006 off with a bang!  Plan on attending the Richmond
ARMA Chapter January Dinner Meeting.  This will be a fun and informative
evening with a chance to network and learn some helpful hints that could
make 2006 much better for you and your agency or organization.  Please

Topic:  Challenges Facing a New Records Manager for Philip Morris, USA.

Scott Carlson will discuss challenges facing a new records manager in
today’s litigation environment for Philip Morris, USA.  Scott is
responsible for managing Philip Morris’ physical and electronic record
repositories.  He will share his perspective as a new records manager
transitioning from a production environment, what he has learned along the
way and helpful hints for other records managers.

Speaker: Scott A. Carlson

Scott is the Operations Manager for the Document and Records Department of
Philip Morris USA.  In this position he provides direct support to the
Senior Team and other key individuals.  His career spans both Corporate
and Government arenas.  At Philip Morris Scott has held positions as
production supervisor, lead auditor, and senior compliance leader
receiving certifications as a Regulatory Affairs Professional (RAPS) as
well as ISO and Quality System Auditor.  Scott came to Philip Morris after
serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a logistics officer in both the
aviation and submarine communities.  Scott received his M.B.A. from Brenau
University, and Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering
from the University of Memphis.

Place:  SunTrust Bank, 24th Floor, 919 East Main Street, Richmond, Virginia

Reception begins at 5:30, followed by dinner at 6:00.  Our speaker will
begin at approximately 6:45.  The buffet dinner will feature entrees of
Blackened Chicken Breast over Angel Hair Pasta with Lemon Chive Cream
Sauce and Roasted Pork Loin with Mushroom Gravy and Garlic Mashed
Potatoes, served with salad, fresh vegetables du jour and rolls & butter.
Dessert is Chef’s choice.
