Lessons Learned.  In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, what have we learned
from 9/11?  This One Day Seminar will address new taskforces, cybercrime
and how agencies track violators, identity fraud and information security,
plus investigative records, what to release and when to release it.
Four Years After 9/11 Are You and Your Records and Information Safer?
This one day seminar will be held on October 12th, 2005 in Richmond, VA at
the Comfort Inn Conference Center, 3200 West Broad Street across from TV
6.  This seminar is Pre-Approved for five hours of CMP Credit for all CRMs
and DCJS Approved for Five Hours of Career Development Training for law
enforcement.  Cost for the seminar is $75 for AIIM/ARMA members and $100

New joint taskforces that have been created within federal/state/local
government, who is responsible for records and information
management “command and control” and who is the bill payer and what is the
return on investment?

11:00  Session 2 – What’s Going On?  Mary Ellen Kendall, Esq.
National White Collar Crime Center
If it happens in cyberspace and I can’t see it how it occurred how do I
know that it really happened?  How do agencies track law enforcement
violators and how do these agencies conduct business between the public,
each other and proprietary electronic systems?

1:30  Session 3 – Identity Fraud and Information
Security...Protecting the Information We Maintain, Store, Transmit and
Dispose.  Kathi K. Lee, Department of Criminal Justice Services
Identify and discuss low and high tech sources of potentially exploitable
information, raise awareness of potential threat, cost and damage posed by
incidents of information breaches.  Discuss implementing and improving
information security practices and systems.

3:30  Session 4 – You Want to Know What?  Bob Grabham, Police-
Analysis/Information Coordinator, Chesterfield County Police Department
Balancing the public’s right to know with law enforcement’s need to
restrict access to investigative information is an ongoing and complicated
issue facing law enforcement records managers.  What do you release, when
do you release it, and how do you protect the information?
