General Schedule 17 (Law Enforcement Records), has been updated.
 
Two new series have been added to address the pressing need of
Accreditation Records.  The series are:
  

100813: Accreditation Records

This series documents law enforcement accreditation by the Commission on
Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).  Includes, but is
not limited to, accreditation reports and certificates of accreditation.

Retention: Retain 10 years then destroy.

 

100814: Accreditation Records: Supporting Documentation

This series consists of working papers and other supporting
documentation used to produce various accreditation studies and reports.

Retention: Retain 5 years then destroy.
