BTW: If anyone IS inclined to follow up on Brent's lead, the pertinent
letters and diaries are now accessible online at the Library of Congress's
American Memory site - along with the entire 26-vol set of Letters of
Delegates 1774-89 and other diarists' comments about the Continental and
Confederation Congresses.  I was using them yesterday to locate Adams's
description of Patrick Henry's contributions to the 1774 congress.
