I wanted to pass along this schedule of history related events for the weekend.  If you have any questions, please contact Kevin Kirby at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> or use contact information given for each of the events.

April 26-28, 2013

1. Friday, April 26 at 5:45 pm:  Concert on grounds of Appomattox Manor in Hopewell - featuring 392nd Army Band and choirs from Hopewell High School & Appomattox Regional Governor's School

2. Saturday, April 27, 9 am - 12 noon:  "Walk in Lincoln's Final Footsteps" tour led by National Park Service historians, leaves from the Farmer's Market in Petersburg at 9, returning at noon.  Free. Seating limited.  Reservations (suggested) please call 804-732-3571, ext 106.

3. Saturday, April 27, 1-5 pm:  "Speilburg in Petersburg" - Walking Tour throughout Old Towne.  Brochure available at Petersburg Museums & Visitors Centers.  Self guided tours will be enhanced with interpreters at various "Lincoln" filming sites.  Period re-enactors will be at South Side RR Depot and period music will be performed by String-Tyme Minstrels.  Also, trolley tours will leave from in front of the Farmer's Market at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm to visit three important Lincoln-visited sites in Petersburg. 4. Saturday, Apil 27, 4-5 pm:  Wardrobe Exhibit of costumes from "Lincoln" film with connection to Petersburg at Centre Hill Museum - Virginia Debut.  Introduction to be made by Academy Award nominated Wardrobe Designer, Joanna Johnston.  Ticketed event: $20.00.  Limited Seating.  Reservations suggested.  Exhibit followed by private reception with Ms. Johnston at the McIlwaine House from 5:30-6:30 pm.  Tickets may be purchased at the Petersburg Visitors Center, 19 Bollingbrook Street, hours 9am-5pm Monday-Saturday.  The Wardrobe Exhibit continues at Centre Hill Museum from April 28-July 27, with regular admission of $10 to museum.  For information please call 804-733-2400.

5. Sunday, April 28, 3-7 pm:  Civil War Tour - Appomattox River, City Point, & Bermuda Hundred Campaign - with Civil War interpreter Scott Williams.  Ticketed event: $68.00.  Reservations suggested.  Benefit for the Chesterfield Historical Society.  Location:  Jordan Point Marina, Hopewell, VA.
