Someone was doing a photobook of colonial privies about 2001 or 2002 : We
were contacted because the photographer wanted to take a picture of the
"reconstructed" privy that stood here at the time. We insisted that he
exclude it, because it was a 20th-century facility built in the 1950s
before visitors' use before the construction of our visitor center,
etc.--and we subsequently removed it. As a result I never heard anything
more about the book project, but presumably there's a full-color
coffee-table book about Colonial Privies out there somewhere . . .
