Program Description:
WikiTree is a free community of genealogists dedicated to growing an accurate single family tree using DNA and traditional genealogical sources. Speaker Bio
Marty became a genealogy enthusiast in 1999 after having caught the bug from his mom and dad. He continues to expand on their work to this day. He currently volunteers at WikiTree where he contributes to the global family tree, leads multiple surname studies and works on the pre-1500 portion of the global tree. He also serves on the board of the Downers Grove, IL Historical Society and formerly served on the board of The Computer Assisted Genealogy Group of Norther Illinois (CAGGNI).

Marty’s vacations now often include a hunt for ancestors, including recent trips to Washington D.C.; rural Pennsylvania; Salt Lake City; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Scotland to visit the ancestral homeland of the Porterfields, on his maternal grandmother's side.
